Regional Knowledge Network Adds Latest Canadian Census Data

The Regional Knowledge Network, the Regional Institute’s central online information resource on the binational region, now features 2006 Canadian Census data, the most recent full census by Statistics Canada. Data updates include a range of demographic categories such as population, age, educational attainment, income and household characteristics. Insights from the latest data include increases in median income across Southern Ontario municipalities, ranging from 8 percent to 21 percent between 2001 and 2006. Visit RKN online to download the data, analyze it with RKN’s dynamic mapping tools or access it through a “Community Quick Report” on Southern Ontario or the entire binational region.
