What is the Regional Knowledge Network?
The Regional Knowledge Network is a central resource for reliable information on the binational Buffalo Niagara region.
With the goal of building regional understanding and informing decision making, the University at Buffalo Regional Institute developed RKN to provide government officials, regional leaders, community activists, researchers and citizens with access to up-to-date data on the region.
RKN provides data, maps and resources for 9 key topics for Western New York and Southern Ontario, with information accessible by various dynamic tools:
- View or download Data to learn about regional topics
- Map data to view patterns in regional issues
- Review Resources for additional topic information, including publications, links and lists
“Knowledge by Topic”
- Access data snapshots, or Community Quick Reports, for select communities
- Compare Communities across multiple topic areas or view data profiles for single communities
- View Reference Maps of the various communities in binational Buffalo Niagara
“Knowledge by Place”
We are interested in hearing from you as we continue to develop RKN. If you did not find what you were looking for, please let us know. User feedback of this kind helps us determine site priorities.
RKN launched in its first phase in March 2006. With support from The John R. Oishei Foundation, RKN will reach full build-out by May 2008. Read More
